MCT:May 14, 2008watched it in teh big screen and its a big treat for any sport lover..carries a strong patriotic message and srk has given one of his best ever performances....loved the whole exp...the matches were really realistic and they were logical....love a movie like this...hope more movies involving hockey would release

If you like SRK the star, then go for OSO but
Chak De India definitely is the highest achievement of SRK the actor. no wet sari songs, no whispering in a so-called mellow voice, no quivering of lips and still a fabulous performance. Every player in the team truly represented their states, and the culture. Somehow, somewhere you will identify someone with each of these ?next-door? characters. Shmit was good in Ab Tak chappan, he is fantastic in CDI. anf guys, for the first time, i would be voting for SRK in FIlmfares. -

An intense story of a Hockey Coach, who is looking for retribution. The movie truly captures the existing condition of Indian Hockey and gender bias prevalent in IHF.
Shahrukh excels as a coach and gives a first rate performance that will silence his worst detractors.
The 16 girls are also brilliant. The story and screenplay are refreshing and keeps the viewer glued to screen for 2 hours.
The direction is extraordinary and some of the hockey sequences made me wonder whether I was watching a live match.
All in all, a must watch movie. -

Its a great film about a underdog teams spirit. The sports of hockey is well depicted in this movie with SRK giving a good restrained performance. Well worth a watch...

An Inspiring Tale !!!! Chak de india can be described in 1 word - Awesome !!!! A very well made movie about an Indian Hockey Coach who takes the women's hockey team to world cup victory. Complimenting Shimit Amin's directorial act is Jaideep Sahni's script, who has not once diverted from the main theme ? sports. It's a very well planned, chalked out movie which makes it an interesting watch. All the cast members (especially the girls) are superb and shahrukh is at his best after Swades.

I loved this movie to bits! It was the one decent...more than decent hindi movie that I have seen in an extremely long time. I had to watch it because Sharukh Khan was acting in it but let me tell you, I was not at all disappointed, infact I really enjoyed the film thoroughly and it was made wonderfully.

why indian movies are so predictable?
i predicted every up coming so called twist very easily.
plz get rid of last moment success like lagaan and even like all other sports based movies.
its has become very ordinary now.
one star for sharukh khan one for the movie.

One star for the girls' acting. One and a half star for the cinematography, the songs and SRK who was really great in it !
I don't really understand why people said it was a bad movie... ah maybe because SRK doesn't romance anyone? Never mind, it suits him too !! -

chak de india is the story of a hockey player who returns to the game as a coach of a women's hockey team and defies all odds .
the movie is fast paced and edited well , the soundtrack , background score is also xcellent , it reminded me of cool runnings and i luved chak de india its far better than lagaan in my view , a must see , if u havent seen it already , CHAK DE INDIA
p.s : i luv the title track :) -

Truely extraordinary. I have long given up hope that such movies like chak de can ever be made in india. just think about this, a shahrukh movie which doesn't have songs(i mean songs which are inserted into a movie just because the concept of indian cinema without such songs is according to some ridiculous), no shahrukh crying all the time in the second half, and most importantly no heroine and no love both of which r thought to be inevitable for the success of a movie in India.( and for those last two reasons, i think this movie is superior to lagaan) And the director proved that a movie need not have a sugar candy love story for it to be a commercial success. Hopefully this movie will be a big step for indian cinema and hopefully many directors will now try to make more serious movies and most importantly of all, i hope that karan johar will stop making movies after he sees this film.
